
Our section designs quantum physics materials and processes to be used in sensors and information technology. A broad term for the field is “quantum engineering”, which means to use and design methods for the study and utilization of the fundamental laws of quantum physics.
We focus on the design of new materials/processes and on a quantum physics description of these. Our long term goal is to develop components and methods for the use of quantum informatics – e.g. in quantum computers for effective data processing and in quantum cryptography for secure communication.
